Book codes alphabets
Gnommish
Gnommish is used in book one and four. It consists of 26 letters (no difference between caps and normal) and 2 punctuation symbols: space and full stop. According to book one Gnommish was originally written in circles, and the arrow (which is the full stop) helped the fairy knowing in which direction to read. The Book of the People is written anciently, so it's still in circles. That's why Artemis couldn't desipher it at first, he didn't understand the direction of the text. Since most fairies got a headache from reading like this, it's now written like occidental languages: from left to right and from top to bottom. Although the language is still spoken underground, and the alphabet remains the same.

Centauric/Centaurean
Nobody is really sure this alphabet actually is centauric, it's not told anywhere, the only reference is the fact that Foaly is the message's author. There's some logical facts that would prove it isn't the centaurs alphabet, but since it's not Eoin Colfer but the editorial who makes those codes, they probably don't take details or plot holes into account when building these.
Centauric was supposed to be one of the most ancient languages underground, almost forgotten and hugely complicated. This alphabet is made of what looks like a non-sophisticated computer font, which can't be as ancient as Foaly claims. Besides it's even more simple than Gnommish, and the alphabet has big similarities with occidental writing (take a look at the C, F, I, J, K, L, M, S, U, X and Y), which was created after the Egyptian one (which evolved from Gnommish).
Still this alphabet consists of 26 letters, and four punctuation marks: two questions symbols, space and full stop.
